This Hotel in Niagara Falls Offers a Room with a Jacuzzi at an Affordable Price

Couples who go to Niagara Falls often live the luxury in the Fallsview area hotels. Some examples include Hilton Fallsview Hotel and Suites, Embassy Suites, and the many hotels from the Marriott brand. During the pandemic, travelers could find a room overlooking the falls with a jacuzzi at under $200 per night. But now with pandemic pricing coming to an end, one must pay upwards of $400 per night for such a room.

Well, not all rooms with a jacuzzi come at an expensive price. The Travelodge by Wyndham Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel is significantly cheaper, and enjoys a location within walking distance from the scenic beauty of Niagara Falls. Located on River Road, visitors can walk from the hotel to the Clifton Hill & Niagara Parkway intersection in only 10 minutes. From there, the scenic walk by the falls starts, or visitors can enjoy the many attractions and dining options along Clifton Hill.

Being a budget chain, hotels that are part of the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts chain make travel possible for all budgets. If you enjoy luxury for a low price, all it takes is to stay at a Wyndham brand and upgrade the room.

Here is a review of our experience staying at this hotel:

Facilities

Just like most hotels, this hotel has an indoor heated pool and a fitness center. The fitness center is not too big, but it’s enough to accommodate those who wake up and want to do a bit of fitness before starting their day.

The on-site restaurant offers a full breakfast for $15, and I must say the amount of food available made it worth every dollar. Other than the standard continental breakfast, the restaurant had scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, pancakes and potatoes, all on the buffet.

The Wi-Fi was complimentary and not a bad speed. Travelers visiting Canada who don’t use their data will be satisfied with the Wi-Fi at this hotel.

Parking at the hotel was $15, which is not bad. The hotels in the Fallsview area charge between $40-75 per night for on-site parking!

Room

The lead-in room category is the Standard Room, which is for travelers looking only for a bed with a roof over their heads. Travelers can get this room for under $100 per night (before taxes).

If you’re looking for a bigger room with a jacuzzi but can’t afford the big Fallsview hotels, upgrade to the Jacuzzi Room. If you visit in the summer, make sure to book this ahead of time, because this room category is limited in availability.

To get the cons out of the way: the room was not very spacious, but it wasn’t small either. I’ve stayed in many hotels in Europe where the room was not only small, but it felt squishy. This room did not feel like that, so I cannot complain. At the same time, I knew we were staying at a Wyndham property, hence my expectations weren’t as high as they would be if we had stayed at the Hilton.

The room had a king bed, a 32” flat screen TV, a coffee and tea maker, with coffee cups and a working desk. Other amenities include an alarm clock and radio, a hair dryer and shelves to store your clothes. And of course, the room comes with a “private bathroom”. The toilet and shower were in the “bathroom”, while the sink was outside the “bathroom”. Across from the sink was a closet with an ironing board.

Teo’s Travel Tip: when traveling to places outside North America, make sure the hotel you choose advertises a “private bathroom”. It may seem like just a good selling feature, however, some hotels have a “shared bathroom”. This means that guests must use the public toilet and/or shower down the hall. I’ve experienced those, and even encountered that when trying to book hotels in Canada!

And now, the main reason we got this room: the jacuzzi was a surprise. We expected just a regular jacuzzi, and yet it was a large, heart shaped jacuzzi. Next to the towels, there were 2 ducks made using towel folding, forming a heart shape. And next to those ducks, a bottle of wine was waiting for us. It was an intimate experience, which any couple would enjoy. And overall, for travelers who may not like small hotel rooms, the intimacy of the jacuzzi takes that feeling away and makes you truly value the experience of staying at this hotel.

Another thing that was nice was the view. While this may not be your ultimate Falls View room, it has a view of the river. If you turn your head to the right, you can see the falls in the distance. Since the view is towards the east, I woke up, made a coffee and sat on the balcony to see the sunrise. I’ve seen the sunrise from the Fallsview hotels, so it was nice to see a different sunrise than the one I’m used to in Niagara Falls.
